Well Educated, Mature Senior Associate/ Securities Portfolio Manager
Unique opportunity to participate in all phases of the investment counseling business.
Interviewing new clients and understanding their goals.
Developing and monitoring a custom tailored investment policy for each client.
Building and managing portfolios of stocks (and where appropriate, bonds), which are aligned with the clients’ other assets, to fulfill their custom tailored investment policies.
Generating new ideas to present in writing to the president of the firm to discuss as part of a small and highly focused investment committee.
We are long term fundamental investors with an emphasis on carefully researching the industry in which a company operates, its position within that industry, and the prospects of both the industry and the company. We believe success in portfolio management derives from careful selection of individual U.S. based companies with good prospects.
You will help the president of the firm research, compile and analyze information regarding individual companies in our client portfolios or, which may be a potential addition to our client portfolios. You will gain knowledge of each of the portfolios as well as the objectives of each client and client family. You may be responsible, under the direction of the president of the firm, for organizing and executing trades. Some administrative tasks are also involved.
Qualifications and Skills:
An MBA is a plus but not required.
Completion of the CFA program is preferred.
An understanding of the core concepts of long-term investing.
3+ years’ experience in securities research and analysis.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, evidenced by the ability to organize and present information clearly and succinctly.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
